Every house opens onto the canal with its own private dock, from 37 feet to more than 50, and open water in both directions: the Atlantic one way, the Gulf the other. Kayaks and life vests are provided at all three, along with a BBQ grill, an outdoor shower and a ladder down into the water for swimming. The three and four-bedroom houses each have a tiki hut with an outdoor dining set, and the two and four-bedroom have private pools.
Sunset Park sits at the end of the street: palm-shaded lawns running down to a small beach, picnic tables, a rock jetty and an observation deck over open water. Two minutes on foot from the 11th Street houses and about five from 13th Street. It is where the island goes for an early swim, and for the sunset that gives the park its name.

Key Colony Beach is a small island city in the Middle Keys, just off the Overseas Highway at mile marker 53.5. It is quiet, walkable and almost entirely residential — a grid of canals a mile from end to end, with its own beach, golf course and beach club. We own and run three houses here, all of them on the water, and we live on the island ourselves.
Every house sits on a canal with its own private dock and open water in both directions: the Atlantic one way, the Gulf of Mexico the other, both reachable in minutes. Kayaks are provided at each property. All three welcome dogs, and all three are within a short walk of Sunset Park and its beach.
The 2-bedroom on 11th Street sleeps six and has a private heated pool with a waterfall, a hot tub and a 37.5-foot dock. It is the easiest choice for two couples or a small family who want the pool to themselves.
The 3-bedroom on 11th Street sleeps eight across three bedrooms, with 37 feet of private dock, a tiki hut and a hammock in the backyard. Your stay includes access to the Cabana Club, Key Colony Beach's community pool, beach and restaurant, an easy walk or bike from the door.
The 4-bedroom on 13th Street sleeps ten in a split layout built for two families travelling together, with a privately fenced heated pool, a tiki hut, a 50-foot T-dock and two driveways with room for a boat trailer.
Key Colony Beach sits roughly halfway down the Keys: about 45 minutes to Key West, 35 minutes to Islamorada, and under two hours from Key Largo. Marathon's airport is ten minutes away and Miami is a straight run up the Overseas Highway. Once you arrive, most of what you need is walkable — which is why guests tend to park the car on the first day and leave it there.
For beaches, fishing charters, the Turtle Hospital and the rest of what is worth doing nearby, see our guide to things to do in Key Colony Beach.
All three homes are on the water and set up for groups, with open living space and room to spread out. Sleeping six, eight and ten, so there is a size that fits the party you are bringing.
